Welcome to the Treasurer's End of Year Reports

Treasurer's End of Year Reports contain details of all money raised from grants applications and donations and all outgoings. The reports contain all major transactions on the LMAA account. A statement of the accounts for the LMAA is published in April of each year.

The LMAA is a non-profit making organisation, with the sole aim of improving the Low Moor site for the benefits of allotment holders and the local community. If you would like to make a donation to the organisation, please contact our Treasurer. Donors are usually listed in our transactions, but if preferred we can leave them anonymous. We bank with the Co-Operative Bank PLC.

For the period 2005/2006

Our grant applications fall into 3 categories:
  • Site improvements
  • Rebuilding of the shop (estimated at approx. £50,000)
  • Kid's Community Garden (run by Angela Johnson)

2005 has continued the previous year's success raising funds for a new shop. This project is moving along nicely, though we remain around £20K short of our target. The LMAA account however has remained at a very healthy £14-15K for most of the year. Other funding successes were the petanque pitch, sponsored by numerous local companies (York Community Pride, York Common Good Trust, Patricia and Donald Shepherd Charitable Trust, York Friends' Central Adult School Trust and donations from York Brewery, Dean's Garden Centre and Marks & Spencer). The Kids Allotment project, run by Angela, applied for a Duke of York Community Initiative Award (no word on this going to press), while £170 was raised by produce from Low Moor being sold at the covered market at the York Food Festival from 21st - 25th September. Many thanks to Kristina for organising that and to all those who have helped raise funds for LMAA during 2005.

Our grant applications fall into 3 categories:
  • Site improvements
  • Rebuilding of the shop (estimated at approx. £50,000)
  • Kid's Community Garden (run by Angela Johnson)

The amount in the account fell as funding received for several projects was spent.  However, a little more funding was gained from the Ward Committee to help with the rebuilding of the shop.  Fundraising for this project will need to continue for several years.

For the period 2003/2004

From a start position of zero in the last spring of 2003, the LMAA has acquired a site development fund approaching £10,000.

This represents an income from several applications for grants, some donations (both corporate and from individuals) and outgoings paid as a result of work carried out for site improvements.

Our grant applications fall into 3 categories:
  • Site improvements
  • Rebuilding of the shop (estimated at approx. £50,000)
  • Kid's Community Garden (run by Angela Johnson)
A round of applause for the combined efforts of all those who helped put grant applications together! In particular our thanks go to Alistair Oswald for his negotiations with Yorkshire Water and Angela Johnson for organising the Kid's Community Garden. Angela will be added to the list of co-signatories for the LMAA bank account.
