Tenerife offers some fantastic opportunities for macro photography, and there is nowhere better than Octopus Cove. This dive site is just a 10 minute boat ride from the marina and is a beautiful little bay set beneath the 400 metre high cliffs.
One side of the bay is defined by a reef, which is covered in sponges, corals and anemones, and is surrounded by shoals of fish. The base of the wall lies in 12 - 15 metres depth, and so background light levels are high and colours strong - it is difficult for the photographer to leave this site. Due to the depth and sheltered aspect of this site it is also ideal for all levels of diver, and if you are observant you may find seahorses here!
